Picacho Peak State Park

Why we chose it -- it was on the way from here (Chez Van Brink in LA) to
there (Titan Missile Museum).
Saguaro standing guard everywhere, which was good as there is a correctional
facility nearby.
But really, it was beautiful. The peak is a great toothy thing, with
outlines of saguaro silhouetted against the sky, just like in the Westerns.
Excellently clean restrooms and showers, not a minor thing after a day of
very, very hot driving through the Mojave and Southern AZ.
Firsts: AZ sunset, nearby lightning, and yapping gangs of coyotes.
Not exactly a Destination, but highly recommended if you are on your way
from here to there.
