Cairns is a tropical beach city, but without much beach. The sandy part of the shore is only a few feet wide. It's quite a tourist town, which makes eating pretty darned easy. In fact, I enjoyed a plate of emu. Tastes like beef! (But not exactly.) At all hours, birds gather noisily in certain trees. Really noisily. Damon remarked, This sound around us, this is just the sort of thing that would be nearly impossible to convey to someone who wasn't there. Chirp, chirp, chirp x 10^n. |
